Serfas/Maple Makeover, Sustainability Efforts

Significant construction for the 91 Project is coming to the Serfas Club Drive and Maple Street areas, starting this summer and continuing for approximately 18 months. Referred to as the “Serfas/Maple Makeover,” work will include reconstruction of local bridges, ramps, roadways, walls and utility systems. This work will affect travel patterns and generate noise.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission hosted neighborhood meetings on June 1 and 9 to present information about upcoming activities. Please watch for special Construction Alerts, changeable message signs, website updates and social media postings about specific construction activities, road closures and detours.

The 91 Project team has implemented a number of practices to conserve resources and promote sustainability. Most recently, the team began using reclaimed water in the production of concrete and to compact soil used to backfill walls and other structures. Reclaimed water also will be used to irrigate future landscaping, which will feature drought-tolerant and native species.
