Supporting Local Corona Non-Profit
Supporting Local Corona Non-Profit
Corona, CA- On February 10, 2018, at 8:45 a.m., ABC HOPES will be hosting a Row-A-Thon at CrossFit Proper located at 430 Princeland Ct., Corona, CA. The concept of the Row-A-Thon is simple: one rower with ten teammates rowing 26.2 miles, or 42,200 meters, for the fastest time.
With a $35.00 registration fee, you will receive an event t-shirt, event bag, and nine new friends (unless you’re registering a team then you’ll get to hang with nine old friends).
The proceeds from this event will benefit a deserving local non-profit, Destroy Duchenne, founded by Elijah Stacy, a 16-year-old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A Corona resident, Elijah attends Centennial High School and is in the International Baccalaureate program, where he earned a 4.6 GPA last year. His mission is to bring awareness, education and ultimately a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to save young lives.
We hope that you will take the time to participate in the Row-A-Thon and support Elijah's organization, Destroy Duchenne.
What is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy? Quick facts:
- Life threatening (typically die by late teens)
- Genetic (x-linked)
- Muscle wasting
- Patients become dependent on a wheelchair
